Tony Barcelona leads Berry Miller Junior High with 23 years of dedicated service in Pearland ISD. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology/Sports Management (2000) and earned a M. Ed in Educational Management from the University of Houston–Clear Lake (2008).

His career in Pearland ISD includes five years teaching/coaching physical education at Rogers Middle School, one year as Assistant Principal at Silverlake Elementary, seven years as Assistant Principal at Pearland Junior High South, and a decade at Berry Miller JH. After three years as Assistant Principal @ BMJH, he was named Principal in spring 2019. In 2022 he was named Pearland ISD’s Secondary Principal of the Year. Berry Miller Junior has been recognized as a Texas School to Watch and one of the best Middle School/Junior Highs in the country in 2019 and redesignated in years 2022 and 2025.

He believes in inspiring students and staff to achieve more, fostering a growth mindset, and creating positive, memorable learning experiences. Married for 22 years to his wife, Leslie, they have two children: Tony (19), who plays baseball at Centenary College, and AnnMarie (16), a Pearland Prancer and sophomore at Pearland High School. Outside of school he enjoys watching sports, has served as a high school and college football official for 23 years, and values time with his family.

Lauren Leth

Lauren Leth is joining the Berry Miller Junior High Staff as an Assistant Principal this 2025-2026 school year! She is originally from San Antonio and is a graduate of Ronald Reagan High School. She earned her degree in Biology from Abilene Christian University, where she received the John L. Bradford Excellence in Science Education Award. In 2014, Leth completed her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at Lamar University.

With 18 years of experience in education, Leth has served in a variety of campus leadership roles. She joins Berry Miller from Dawson High School, where she was the Campus Testing Coordinator and Head Volleyball Coach. Leth brings a diverse background that includes serving as a Dyslexia Coordinator, member of the Safe and Secure Schools team, District Education Improvement Council member, science teacher, special education teacher, and coach. These varied experiences enable her to thoughtfully address the diverse needs of students and campus communities.

Leth has been married to her husband, Aaron, for 14 years.  Together, they have two children, Owen (11) and McKenna (9), who attend schools in Pearland ISD. Outside of school, Leth enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and being outdoors.

Guided by a growth mindset, Leth values a strong campus culture and is committed to identifying innovative strategies that support student learning and enrich the overall student and teacher experience!

Kristal Gage

Kristal Gage is a positive, forward-thinking, and dedicated educational leader committed to fostering student success and well-being in a supportive environment with high expectations. 

Gage graduated from Pearland High School and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston followed by her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.

Throughout her career in Pearland ISD and Santa Fe ISD, Gage has taught a wide range of junior high subjects, including ELAR, public speaking, A/V technology, yearbook, and multiple STEM-based electives. She has also created exceptional opportunities for students through student-created museums, community service initiatives, national award-winning video and photography productions, visits to local news and radio stations, and interviews with renowned authors and screenplay writers.

Now in her third year as assistant principal at Berry Miller Junior High, she brings over 22 years of experience in education and a deep personal connection to the campus, having previously served as a teacher at BMJH. This experience gives her a unique appreciation for the school’s culture, its students, and its tradition of excellence.

Gage firmly believes in doing whatever it takes to make learning a challenging, engaging, and enriching journey that motivates students to reach their highest potential. She embraces and champions Berry Miller Junior High’s vision to inspire, empower, and pursue a passion for personal success!
